How to create a Hosting Parameters template

This manual aims to explain in a detailed, clear, and step-by-step manner how to create and configure a Hosting Parameter Template within the SWPanel control panel. Hosting templates are fundamental tools for users who need to deploy multiple services with an identical parameter configuration, allowing them to standardize processes, optimize times, and avoid manual configuration errors.

To be able to create your Hosting parameter template, you must follow these steps:

1. Accessing the Hosting parameter templates management

You should be located in the main Dashboard of your SWPanel. You can access it by clicking on the SWPanel logo (or the one you have configured in your account) in the top left part of the panel. Now, from the left side menu, go to Tools -> Templates -> Hosting Parameters

2. Create Template

To proceed with the creation of the Hosting template, you must press the blue Create Template button.

3. Hosting template creation Dashboard

3.1 Template Name and Description

The first step in creating your new template will be to write a name and a description. The latter is optional, but highly recommended to be able to identify your template easily.

3.2 Generic service data

Define the disk space, monthly traffic, and the activation of web statistics (if AWStats is installed).

3.3 Activate email services

Configure accounts, space limits, security, and additional functions such as aliases or lists.

3.4 Activate FTP services

Define the number of allowed FTP accounts.

3.5 Activate database services

Set the maximum number of databases, users, and simultaneous connections.

3.6 DNS services and management

Configure DNS records and select a custom DNS template.

3.7 Activate Cron services

Define the maximum number of crons allowed in the Hosting.

3.8 Activate inode limitation

Limit the number of files and directories that the Hosting can have. Inodes represent data structures used to manage files and directories in UNIX-type file systems. An insufficient number of inodes can prevent the creation of new files, even if disk space is available.

3.9 Activate Apache Max Childs limitation

Control the number of processes that Apache can open simultaneously.

3.10 Activate multiple websites

Allows defining how many independent websites (vHosts) or how many Hosting aliases a single Hosting Plan can contain.

3.11 Create Template

Once you have the entire template configuration to your liking, all that's left is to press the Create Template button.
